Capt. John N. Raguso has been a bluewater mate, captain and licensed USCG 100-ton Master since 1974. As the Boating & Electronics Editor of the Fisherman Magazine, the editor of the Fisherman's weekly Offshore Report, the author of the Canyon Discovery Series, the author of the Atlantic Wreck Series & AWS Book, the Headmaster of the Long Island Fishing School and a frequent contributor to Sport Fishing, Marlin, Seatow's Lifelines & Boating Magazines, few Long Islanders have as much practical experience in the art & science of boating & fishing than Capt. John N. Raguso.

Capt. John enjoys teaching people how to fish as much as taking them out fishing and each charter trip is an educational field trip lesson in "how to" set up the boat, rig the gear, use the electronics and modern technology to find the fish, as well as how to hunt, stalk, bait, hook-up, fight & bring your ultimate quarry to boatside. Capt. John whill show you and your crew how to drive the boat safely and efficiently in all types of sea conditions, how to set up the best trolling spread and how to tie all of the knots you will need to know for your type of sport fishing. When it comes to the art of stand-up fishing on light tackle for big game pelagics, few anglers have brought more fish to the transom than Capt. John.

These charter trips can be done either on your boat or on one of the many boats associated with MarCeeJay Sport Fishing Charter Services. Capt. John works very hard to create a very proactive, friendly, fun and safe boating and fishing experience and few others can offer the same amount of knowledge and dedication to achieving this objective for you and your crew. You will not only catch fish with Capt. John, but will learn a great deal in the process and have fun doing so, with memories to last a lifetime.
